The Dynasonics TFX-500w is a versatile and accurate ultrasonic flow meter designed to measure the volumetric flow of clean water in pipes up to 10 inches in diameter . Its clamp-on design mounts on the outside of pipes, never contacting the internal liquid, which drastically reduces installation and maintenance time and cost . It is ideal for building automation, water distribution, and wastewater collection in both new and retrofit applications .

The TFX-500w features a wide, bi-directional measuring range that ensures reliable readings even at very low and high flow rates. It measures clean liquids and those with small amounts of suspended solids or aeration. For pipe sizes of 2 inches and smaller, the meter is available with transducers mounted directly on the electronics enclosure for a convenient local indication. A remote mount version allows transducers to be placed up to 300 feet away, which is useful for pipes in inconvenient locations or with severe vibration .

Standard features include a NEMA 4X, IP66 polycarbonate enclosure, an optional easy-to-read digital display, a totalizer with remote reset that tracks forward, reverse, and net total, and analog outputs (0-20 and 4-20mA). The meter supports Modbus RTU or BACnet MS/TP communication over RS485 for seamless integration with building management systems, as well as BEACON/AquaCUE connectivity .
