The CHS Series from Ozkayali Workholding and Spanntechnik is a 3-jaw open-center power chuck designed for CNC lathes and turning centers requiring bar-feeding capability. The open-center configuration allows bar stock to pass through the chuck for automated production runs. Each chuck is supplied with one set of soft jaws, one set of hard jaws, T-nuts with bolts, and a chuck installation key.

How does the construction support long service life?

The entire chuck body is manufactured from special alloy steel, then fully hardened and ground. This is a key differentiator — many power chucks in this class harden only the jaw guideways, leaving the body untreated. Full-body hardening with precision grinding provides consistent wear resistance across all sliding surfaces. Specially designed oil ducts distribute lubricant evenly to every friction point, minimizing wear during high-cycle production.

Size selection

The CHS Series is also available in 2-jaw (for square and irregular workpieces) and 4-jaw (for thin-walled or deformation-sensitive parts) configurations within the same size range and construction standards.
