Product Description
The KeTop T10 directMove is KEBA's gesture-controlled mobile handheld terminal for industrial robot teach-in and machine operation. It replaces traditional jog buttons and rotary dials with natural spatial gestures — tilt, rotate, or point the device, and the robot's tool center point follows the same movement. The 6D IMU updates orientation at 100 Hz (10 ms), enabling real-time responsive control without requiring the operator to look away from the robot to find a button. A claimed ~20% reduction in teach-in time results from eliminating the cognitive gap between "which button do I press" and "which way do I want the robot to move."
How does DirectMove 6D gesture control work?
Three MEMS accelerometers and three gyroscopes form a 6-degree-of-freedom inertial measurement unit that tracks the device's orientation in 3D space. Four operating modes are supported: Free mode (robot moves in the direction the pendant is pointed), Coordinate mode (snaps movement to the nearest world-coordinate axis), Joint mode (individual joint jogging), and Virtual Handle Mode — where rotating the pendant directly reorients the robot's tool center point as if the operator were holding the robot flange. The maximum angular rate of 2,000°/s comfortably exceeds the fastest human hand rotation. Typical orientation accuracy is 2–3° in the first minute after calibration, with drift of approximately 1°/min in stationary conditions — sufficient for coarse-to-medium positioning before fine adjustments.
What safety features enable collaborative and industrial robot teach-in?
The KeTop T10 integrates a dual-circuit 3-position enabling switch (B10d = 1,000,000 cycles) and a dual-circuit emergency stop button (B10d = 250,000 cycles), certified to PL e (EN ISO 13849-1) and SIL 3 (EN 61508) depending on integration. The 3-position switch — off (released), enabling (mid-press, robot moves), panic (fully pressed, robot stops) — is the standard safety paradigm for robot teach-in. An optional grey stop button variant is available for non-permanently connected applications per machinery directive requirements. The IP54 ABS/PC housing resists grease, oil, lubricants, and alcohol common on factory floors, and the UL94-V0 flammability rating meets stringent enclosure fire safety requirements for industrial control equipment.
