The Fristam FDS is a hygienic twin-screw pump whose contact-free screws carry fluid axially, so shear-sensitive products such as fruit puree, mayonnaise and meat suspensions keep their texture. Two intermeshing screws form chambers that pull a vacuum at the inlet and build pressure at the outlet.

Can one pump really handle product and CIP?

Most plants run a product pump plus a separate CIP pump because no single pump spans the gap between thick product and thin detergent. The FDS spans 0.5 to 1,000,000 cP, so the same unit transfers thick product at low speed and then runs cleaning solution at high speed through its open, drainable interior — no dead zones, no residue, and one pump instead of two.
