Where a heavier conveyor section or a bigger fan would otherwise send the engineering back to the control cabinet, this drive keeps the distributed answer: 19 A continuous - roughly 45 percent more than the 13.2 A of the 5.5 kW step - with 38 A available for 3 s when a jam or a hard start spikes the load. The machine frame mounting stays: IP65/66 means washdown and dust are the section's problem, not the drive's, and the integrated C2 filter keeps external EMC hardware off the wiring. On the network side, the two M12 ports let this drive sit anywhere in the PROFINET ring, and PROFIsafe travels the same cable as the data.

What does the 7.5 kW step cost in ambient rating?

A narrower temperature window than the smaller drives. The 7.5 kW FSC is rated -30 to +40 C, while the steps below it run to +55 C - the top of the range gives up 15 degrees of upper ambient. An unheated machine hall that sees summer heat, or a section under a roof where air does not move, has to be checked against +40 C before the 7.5 kW drive is chosen; the same duty at 5.5 kW carries the +55 C rating. Power and ambient rating trade against each other at this step, and the site's worst day is what decides.
