Is PROFIBUS DP on a 1.5 kW drive overkill?

Not when the whole line is on DP: the drive joins the existing bus for setpoints, ramps and diagnostics, and 10 A of rated output at 200-240 V covers the motor. For a plant migrating toward Ethernet later, the 0UF0 (PROFINET/EtherNet/IP) sibling is the parallel option.

What does the panel builder need to add?
