The Pulsar Ultra 4 is a multi-function controller designed for level, flow, volume and pump control in water, wastewater and industrial process applications. Compatible with both ultrasonic and radar transducers, it provides four relay outputs and an isolated 4-20mA analog output for integration with SCADA and plant control systems.

Dual Transducer Compatibility

The Ultra 4 works with Pulsar dB series ultrasonic transducers for standard liquid level applications and dBR series radar transducers for challenging conditions with dust, steam or surface turbulence. This dual compatibility lets engineers standardize on one controller across diverse measurement points.

Measurement and Control Functions

• Level and Volume: Built-in volume calculations for standard tank shapes plus a 32-point linearizer for irregular vessels
• Open Channel Flow: Supports rectangular and triangular weirs, Parshall and Venturi flumes, and U-shaped channels with MCERTS Class 1 certified accuracy
• Pump Control: Advanced routines for chemical dosing, IBC and storage tank management, CSO and sewer monitoring
• Data Logging: On-board micro SD card slot for extended trend recording and event duration monitoring

Communication and Integration

The Ultra 4 supports Profibus DPV1, Modbus RTU/ASCII and HART 7 communication via isolated RS485 or 4-20mA interface. The built-in graphical LCD displays real-time echo profiles and level trends, with full parameter configuration through the integral keypad or PC connection via the RJ11 serial interface.
