The Optris CTlaser LT / LTF infrared temperature sensor can recognize temperature changes within as little as 9ms (LTF model). It is designed for temperature surveillance of fast processes for non-metallic surfaces, such as plastics, varnishes, wood, or paper. It can measure objects as small as 0.04 inches at a distance of 2.7 inches .

The sensor features optical resolutions of 75:1 (CTlaser LT) and 50:1 (CTlaser LTF). Response times are 120ms for the LT model and 9ms for the LTF model, making the LTF ideal for very fast-moving targets. The spectral range is 8-14μm, optimized for non-metallic surfaces. It can function in ambient temperatures up to 185°F without additional cooling .

Selectable analog outputs and multiple digital interfaces offer high variability. The sensor includes a programmable functional input for setting external emissivity, ambient temperature compensation, and reset of hold functions. It features peak hold, valley hold, average, and an extended hold function with threshold and hysteresis, all field configurable with the USB programming kit. Field selectable analog output options include 0/4-20mA, 0-5V, 0-10V, Type K or J thermocouple, and alarm output .

Optional plug-in interfaces include USB, RS485, RS232, 2 optically isolated relay outputs, CAN-Bus, Profibus DP, and Ethernet. The sensor has an emissivity range of 0.1 to 1.1, operates on 8-36 VDC with 160mA max current draw, and is IP65 NEMA-4 rated.
