The Optris CT 1M / 2M infrared temperature sensor is designed for the high-temperature measurements of metals, metal oxides, and ceramics. It has a short measuring wavelength to decrease errors. The sensing head is only 0.6 inches in diameter and 1.1 inches long to fit in tight spaces .

The 1M model measures 905 to 3992°F with a spectral range of 1μm; the 2M model measures 482 to 3632°F with a spectral range of 1.6μm. Selectable analog outputs and multiple digital interfaces offer high variability. Field selectable analog output options include 0/4-20mA, 0-5V, 0-10V, Type K or J thermocouples, and alarm .

The sensor includes a programmable functional input for setting external emissivity, ambient temperature compensation, and reset of hold functions. It also features peak hold, valley hold, average, and an extended hold function with threshold and hysteresis. USB, RS485, RS232 interface, 2 optically isolated relay outputs, CAN-Bus, Profibus DP, and Ethernet are available with plug-in options .

The Optris Compact Connect temperature analysis software is available as a free download. The sensor operates on 8-36 VDC power supply with 100mA max current draw and is IP65 NEMA-4 rated. Cable lengths of 3, 8, or 15m are available .
