Product Description
The Isotech 982 Hyperion R is a portable blackbody calibration source specifically designed for non-contact infrared thermometers over the temperature range -20°C to 125°C. Its combination of high emissivity (>0.995) and excellent temperature uniformity ensures laboratory-grade performance and low uncertainty calibrations.
The 50 mm diameter cavity with 150 mm depth provides a stable radiation target. Solid-state Peltier modules deliver vibration-free heating and cooling, enabling precise temperature control above, below, or at ambient. Temperature stability is ±0.1°C with user-selectable display resolution from 0.1°C to 0.01°C.
Traceability is established via a separate built-in indicator and an included platinum resistance thermometer. A three-point traceable calibration certificate is supplied as standard; UKAS calibration of the resistance thermometer or radiometric calibration are available as options.
The Hyperion R includes Cal Notepad software for automated data logging via its PC interface. Optional accessories include a gallium fixed point cell (29.7646°C) for achieving the highest accuracy, interchangeable orifice plates (10–40 mm) for aperture restriction, and a protective carrying case.
This instrument is widely used for medical thermometer testing, particularly in response to pandemic screening requirements, and is equally suitable for any low-temperature infrared calibration task.
