The Honeywell BW RigRat is a transportable wireless area monitor designed for gas detection in hazardous environments. It supports up to six interchangeable sensors, including electrochemical, catalytic bead, PID for VOCs, and infrared sensors for flammable gases and CO₂. Multiple RigRat units can form a wireless safety perimeter with up to 16 units in a single network.

The monitor integrates with Honeywell remote monitoring software for real-time gas readings, location, and compliance status from any internet-connected device. Optional noise or meteorological sensors can be added for enhanced environmental monitoring. Up to eight weeks of runtime on a single charge eliminates battery swaps during tasks, and an intrinsically safe portable charger is available for extended field power.

The 3.5-inch color display provides clear readouts, and alarms include a 108 dB audible alarm and 360° LED visual indication. The RigRat features a rugged weatherproof design with IP65 rating for pumped models and IP67 for diffusion models, operating from -40°F to 140°F depending on configuration. Wireless options include Bluetooth Low Energy for smartphone setup, Mesh networking for unit-to-unit communication, and Wi-Fi for network integration.
