The Honeywell Searchpoint Optima Plus is an infrared point hydrocarbon gas detector certified for use in potentially explosive atmospheres. Its infrared detection principle offers a fast speed of response and fail-to-safe operation, ensuring plant compliance, personnel protection, and maximum production uptime. Reduced routine maintenance, compared to conventional catalytic bead detectors, provides a low ongoing cost of ownership.

The detector incorporates advanced internal fault diagnostics and false alarm rejection algorithms, delivering the highest level of operational integrity. It is particularly well-suited for environments that may contain catalytic bead poisons or inhibitors, or where harsh environmental conditions necessitate longer intervals between routine maintenance. Typical applications include offshore oil and gas platforms, refineries, LNG/LPG bottling plants, and gas turbine power plants.

The Searchpoint Optima Plus has a measurement range of 0 to 100% LEL for hydrocarbons. It offers a fast response time, with T90 for methane at less than 4 seconds. Housed in a 316 stainless steel enclosure with IP66/67 environmental protection, it can operate in temperatures from -40 to 149°F (-40 to 65°C). The signal output is a 4-20mA autosensing sink or source.
