The BF400 is a power controller designed exclusively for use with LMK Thermosafe induction drum heaters. It operates in open loop using burst firing technology to adjust heater output from 0% to 100%, thereby limiting the maximum temperature of the drum contents. A near zero-crossing switch minimizes supply disturbances for electromechanical compatibility.

How It Works

• Burst Firing Control: The controller cycles the heater on and off at a user-defined duty ratio (e.g., 50% ratio = heater on for 30 seconds, off for 30 seconds). This reduces the total heat input and indirectly limits the drum temperature.
• Near Zero-Crossing Switching: Transitions occur at AC zero-crossing points to virtually eliminate harmonic distortion and flicker on the supply line.

Safe Area Design & Protection

• Safe Area Mounted: The BF400 itself is installed in a safe zone (typically the plant switchgear/fuse room), while the induction heater operates in the hazardous zone. A standard 5-meter cable provides physical separation.
• Integrated MCB: A built-in 25A miniature circuit breaker protects the load and wiring from overcurrent without external components.
• Self-Limiting Heater: The companion THERMOSAFE induction heater has no heating elements and is inherently temperature self-limiting — a fail-safe secondary layer even if the controller malfunctions.
