The FloCat ACS Series water meter uses the widely accepted multi-jet principle, as a gear train drives the register totalizer dials. For pulse output meters, a reed switch sensor is attached to the outside of the lens and detects a magnet arm that has replaced one of the dial pointers. The reed switch output is a dry contact closure and does not require power. The ACS Series meter models are available for cold or hot water use.

Maximum temperature for cold water meters is 105°F (40°C) and for hot water meters is 194°F (90°C). Maximum operating pressure is 150 psi. Body materials are FRP-reinforced polyamide for cold water meters or cast bronze for both cold and hot water meters. Internals are engineered thermoplastic, and the magnet is Alnico. Accuracy is ±1.5% of reading.

The optional reed switch sensor provides a dry contact closure with 20mA maximum current, 24Vdc or Vac maximum voltage, and comes with 12ft (4m) standard cable (max run 2000ft). This allows for remote monitoring and integration with control systems.
