Product Description
The Henke-Sass Wolf DW-K is a high-reliability piston flow switch specifically developed for monitoring low flow rates in industrial coolant and lubricant recirculation systems. Its unique design allows for precise switching points as low as 0.1 l/min, making it ideal for applications where even small flow reductions need to be detected to prevent equipment damage.
The DW-K operates on a simple and proven piston principle. A specially designed piston, fitted with a permanent magnet, is held in a defined position by a stainless steel spring. As the flow rate increases, the medium pushes the piston against the spring force. When the flow exceeds or falls below the preset switch point, the reed switch located outside the medium is activated contactlessly via the permanent magnet. This non-contact design ensures absolute leak-proof operation and eliminates the risk of seal failure.
The flow switch features a special piston divided into a measuring section and a guiding section, which combines precise switching accuracy with high mechanical reliability. It is inherently insensitive to contamination and calcification, making it suitable for use in harsh industrial environments. The device can be easily disassembled for cleaning and maintenance without the need for special tools, reducing downtime and maintenance costs.
The DW-K is available with standard 8mm hose connections or 1/4" BSP female threads, with other connection types and materials available on request. The standard brass housing is suitable for most industrial applications, while stainless steel versions are available for corrosive media. The device can be installed in any orientation and operates reliably at pressures up to 25 bar and temperatures up to 100°C. Typical applications include machine tool coolant systems, hydraulic systems, lubrication systems, and water circulation systems.
