The front connections then serve speakers in zone 1 and zone 2 respectively. Both pairs carry the same 25V AC/60V DC rating. Keep left/right polarity consistent across both pairs to avoid phase cancellation between adjacent zones.

Does the double socket require a deeper wall box?

The double socket uses the same 70×70mm footprint as the single version — it fits a standard flush-mount box. The additional terminal pair is accommodated within the same depth. As always with deep speaker terminals, ensure the box has enough free volume behind the insert for the 10mm² conductors to bend without kinking.

Single or double — which should I choose?

Choose single (5TG2467-2) for a straightforward stereo run to one speaker pair. Choose double (5TG2468-2) when you have two independent speaker circuits terminating at the same wall location. Running two singles side-by-side in a dual-gang frame is also an option, but the integrated double socket saves one frame slot and keeps the wiring neater.
