Product Description
The eMotionTech Strateo3D DUAL600 Série 2 is a large-format industrial FFF 3D printer built around independent dual extrusion (IDEX) — two extruder carriages that move independently on the X-axis, each capable of reaching any point on the 600 × 420 mm build plate. This architecture unlocks three operational modes that a single-extruder or shared-carriage dual-extruder cannot: soluble-support printing (one tool deposits the part material — PA, ABS, ASA, PC — while the other lays down BVOH or HIPS that dissolves in water or limonene, leaving complex internal channels and overhangs clean), mirror mode (both tools print the same part simultaneously, doubling throughput for production runs), and duplication mode (two identical parts printed side by side). At a starting price of approximately €21,000, the DUAL600 Série 2 competes on build volume (126 liters) and material flexibility rather than branding lock-in — every filament supplier's 1.75 mm spool is compatible.
How does the interchangeable tool head system support the full temperature range?
The DUAL600 Série 2 accepts quick-change tool heads that store calibration data in memory — swap a standard-temperature head (300°C, for PLA, PETG, ABS, ASA, TPU) for a high-temperature head (500°C, for PA, PC, PEKK, PEEK, PVDF, and carbon-fiber or glass-fiber composites) and the machine recalls the offset calibration without re-tramming. Nozzle diameters from 0.25 mm (fine detail) to 1.2 mm (high-throughput, up to 150 g/h with the performance tool) span the range from prototype surface finish to production-rate material deposition. A filament drawer holds two 3 kg spools with run-out detection, and the thermally regulated chamber maintains up to 70°C with active temperature control — sufficient to prevent the warping and delamination that plague large-format ABS and nylon prints on open-frame machines.
What does the open-material architecture mean in practice?
The DUAL600 does not use RFID-locked filament cartridges, chipped spools, or proprietary material profiles. Any 1.75 mm filament from any manufacturer runs with user-defined temperature, speed, and cooling parameters stored as reusable material profiles. eMotionTech publishes recommended starting parameters for common engineering materials — PA6 and PA6-CF (60°C drying, 3DLac bed adhesive), ABS and ASA (65°C drying, Dimafix bed adhesive), PC-ABS, TPU 98A — but the parameter editor is fully open. For a service bureau running multiple materials across multiple customers, this means one machine can handle a walk-in ABS prototyping job in the morning, a PA6-CF production fixture in the afternoon, and a PEKK aerospace bracket overnight by swapping the tool head and spool — no firmware lockout, no e-license fee, no restricted supplier list. The HEPA + activated-carbon filtration system (optionally upgraded to 99.997% at 0.3 μm for industrial environments) handles UFP and VOC emissions across this material range.
