The Optris CTlaser 05M infrared temperature sensor has a high-temperature range of 1832 to 3632°F for measuring temperatures of metal surfaces and molten metals. The short wavelength of 525nm minimizes measurement errors during emissivity changes. It has a 150:1 optical resolution and scalable focus settings. The sensor can function in ambient temperatures up to 185°F without additional cooling .

The sensor features a 1ms response time and emissivity adjustable from 0.1 to 1.1 .

Selectable analog outputs and multiple digital interfaces offer high variability. Field selectable analog output options include 0/4-20mA, 0-5V, 0-10V, type K or J thermocouples, and alarm. The sensor features peak hold, valley hold, average, and an extended hold function with threshold and hysteresis, all field configurable with the USB programming kit (ACCTUSBK) .

Optional plug-in interfaces include USB, RS485, RS232, 2 optically isolated relay outputs, CAN-Bus, Profibus DP, and Ethernet. The sensor operates on 8-36 VDC power supply with 160mA max current draw and is IP65 NEMA-4 rated. The Optris Compact Connect software is available as a free download .
