Your sensors and actuators already run on a single AS-Interface cable, and a 1.1 kW drive should extend that flat ASi line rather than introduce a second network. The 6SL3520-2XE01-1AA0 mounts on the frame (IP66, 480 V) and joins AS-Interface as one more device on the same hybrid cable carrying power and control.

Is AS-Interface already your fieldbus?

If ASi is your plant standard, this drive avoids a PROFINET gateway, a second address space, and the licensing that comes with it — one cable, one network, one commissioning routine. The trade-off is ASi's limited bandwidth, so if the axis needs fast cyclic data or sits on a PROFINET line, the 1AB0 (local I/O) or 7AF0 (PROFINET) siblings fit better. Choose the 1AA0 because ASi is already what you wire.
