Product Description
The TLK43 by Regulation France is a 1/16 DIN single-loop PID temperature controller designed for demanding industrial applications requiring high precision and flexibility. Built on a microprocessor-based platform, it provides universal input compatibility, advanced PID control algorithms, and comprehensive alarm and communication functions.
Universal Input and Dual Display
- One Input for All Sensors: A single TLK43 accepts thermocouples (J, K, S, B, C, E, L, N, R, T), RTDs (PT1000, PT100), PTC, NTC, infrared sensors, and standard analogue signals (0/4-20mA, 0/1-5V, 0/2-10V)—eliminating the need to stock different controller variants.
- Dual 4-Digit LED Display: Process value (PV) is shown on a red 4-digit display, set value (SV) on a green 4-digit display. Four additional LEDs indicate the status of outputs 1-4.
Advanced PID Control with Two Degrees of Freedom
- 2-DOF PID Algorithm: The PID control uses a two-degree-of-freedom algorithm that independently optimizes the instrument's response to process disturbances and setpoint changes. This ensures stable control during steady-state operation while providing a faster response to setpoint variations without overshoot.
- Auto-Tuning and Self-Tuning: The auto-tuning function (FAST or OSCILLATING type) automatically calculates optimal PID parameters during commissioning. Self-tuning continuously monitors the control loop during normal operation and adjusts PID parameters in real time as process dynamics change.
- Fuzzy Overshoot Control: The controller automatically calculates and applies a fuzzy overshoot control parameter that prevents temperature overshoot during heat-up, a critical feature for processes with high thermal inertia.
Flexible Output Configuration and Alarms
- Up to 4 Outputs: Choice of relay (SPST-NO, 5A/250V AC), SSR drive (24V DC), or analogue outputs (0/4-20mA, 0/2-10V) for control or re-transmission. Up to 2 analogue outputs are available simultaneously.
- Heater Break Alarm (CT Input): Monitoring the load current via the CT input enables detection of heater failures, partial load loss, or SSR short circuits, triggering an immediate alarm.
- Loop Break Alarm: Built-in loop break alarm detects sensor open-circuit, short-circuit, or actuator failure, automatically shutting down control output to prevent damage.
- 4 Configurable Set Points: Up to 4 alarm set points can be configured as process high/low, deviation high/low, or band alarms. The ramp and dwell function allows controlled temperature changes between target values.
Communication and Configuration
- RS-485 Modbus RTU: Standard Modbus RTU (JBUS) protocol, up to 38,400 baud. Up to 32 instruments can be connected on the same RS-485 network.
- KEY01 Programming Tool: A dedicated 3-pole connector allows rapid upload/download of parameter configurations for batch programming of multiple controllers.
