Rotary die cutting produces the parts that are hardest to stack: long, thin, flexible and often nested into each other by the web itself. The Schobertechnologies SPIDER is the high-speed robot built for exactly that output - extreme acceleration, speed and precision dedicated to picking die-cut products off the RSM off-line die cutter and stacking them nonstop into dual cassettes at synchronized speed, with the line running up to 150 ft/min.

Why not a standard vacuum stacker?

Because flexible and nested products defeat them: a film gasket that has curled, a label web with nested shapes, a filter cut that clings to its neighbor - the SPIDER handles the stack-and-count duty for these with product-specific pick-and-place fixtures, and the fixture concept is what makes it production-grade rather than a demo. Changeover between styles and forms is rapid, so short runs do not pay a format penalty, and the dual-cassette arrangement means stacking continues while the full cassette is swapped.

Where does quality control fit?

Optional and inline: a 100 percent inspection system with integrated waste separation verifies every part against the master, so rejects leave the flow before they are stacked into a cassette. For plants running Schober RSM die cutters, the SPIDER completes the off-line finishing loop from the same supplier; for rigid, stable blanks that stack by simpler means, the companion Autopack technology covers that duty instead.
