Count the drives on a typical conveyor line and the 2.2 kW sections will outnumber everything else — which is why this rating is where installation method matters most, and why the Q4/2 build exists at all.

Two connections, one visit

• Power: 400 V AC through the Q4/2 plug — no gland, no termination, no torque check.
• Control: the AS-i trunk tap — no control cable run, no cabinet, no separate 24 V supply thanks to the integrated PSU.

The result is a section that is mounted, powered and addressed in a single visit, at a rating that does real work: 5.9 A rated in LO duty, 11.8 A in HO, and 200% for 3 s when the belt starts loaded. The fanless 425 x 240 x 134 mm FSB housing keeps maintenance out of the picture, and IP65/66 / UL Type 4X sealing means the mounting position is wherever the belt is.

If the line later standardises on plant Ethernet, the 2AF0 build brings PROFINET and EtherNet/IP into the same housing and plug — the trunk decision is never final, only current.
