Product Description

How does the 5050 series duplex alternation work?

After each pump cycle, the 5050 controller automatically alternates which pump runs next — Pump 1 on one cycle, Pump 2 on the next. This equalizes runtime across both pumps, preventing one from accumulating excessive wear while the other sits idle. The controller receives signals from factory-installed float switches and routes power to the appropriate pump via two built-in 120VAC receptacles.

What happens during a high-water alarm condition?

When the top alarm float activates, the controller sounds an audible horn and illuminates a visual alarm indicator. At the same time, it shuts off the running pump and starts the backup pump — continuing to pump down even while alerting operators to the high-water event. An external normal/silence switch allows users to silence the horn while the alarm light remains on until the condition clears.

What is the difference between the 5050V and 5050W?

The 5050V ships with vertical-style float switches — suitable for basins with limited horizontal clearance. The 5050W uses wide-angle float switches that require more lateral space but offer a broader sensing range. Both variants share the same controller unit, electrical rating (120VAC/15A), NEMA 1 enclosure, alarm features, and 3-year warranty.
