It wirelessly captures the 3D geometry of single- and multi-lobe rotors and stators using a high-resolution camera, then compares measured data against the nominal CAD model in weinCAD software. Automatic deviation detection identifies out-of-tolerance areas and feeds correction parameters directly to Weingärtner vario milling machines and finish grinding/polishing machines.

What does the mlpc measure and how?

The system specializes in the complex helical lobe profiles found in progressive cavity pump rotors, stators, and drilling mud motor power sections. A wireless 3D camera captures the workpiece geometry without physical contact, transmitting data to weinCAD for analysis. The software performs nominal/actual comparison across the full lobe profile, detecting form deviations, pitch errors, and surface irregularities. This measurement data is also used for component documentation, traceability archiving, and reverse engineering of worn parts.

How does weinCAD close the manufacturing quality loop?

When weinCAD identifies a deviation, it calculates the required machine tool correction and transmits it directly to the Weingärtner machine tool that produced the part — vario series whirling/peeling machines for rotor machining or finish series for surface refinement. This closed-loop feedback eliminates manual measurement interpretation and reduces scrap by catching deviations before they propagate across a production batch. The system is fully compatible with all Weingärtner machine tools, including the mpmc multi-product machining center for drill string components.
