Product Description

Most auxiliary switches just tell you whether the breaker is ON or OFF. The ABB S2C‑S/H6R does that — and then does something else entirely. With a simple switch on the unit, you choose between H mode (auxiliary switch) and S mode (signal contact). One device, two entirely different functions.

H Mode – What Position Is the Breaker In?
In H mode, the S2C‑S/H6R follows the mechanical position of the circuit breaker. If the breaker is ON, the auxiliary contact changes state. If it is OFF, it changes back. This is what you expect from a standard auxiliary switch. Use it for remote indication, interlocking between breakers, or status feedback to a PLC or building management system.

S Mode – Did the Breaker Trip?
In S mode, the contact only changes state when the breaker trips due to a fault — overcurrent, short circuit, or (for RCCBs and RCBOs) earth fault. If someone manually switches the breaker OFF, the S contact does nothing. It only signals when the protection function has operated. This is invaluable for fault monitoring: you can distinguish between a deliberate shutdown and a genuine trip without sending someone to inspect the panel.

Where You Use Each Mode
Use H mode when you need to know the breaker’s position regardless of how it got there. Use S mode when you specifically need to know that a fault occurred. For a critical process where you want an alarm if a motor trips but do not care when the maintenance switch is turned off, S mode is the answer. For a remote panel where you need to see the real‑time status of every breaker, H mode is the answer.

Electrical Ratings and Configuration
The S2C‑S/H6R provides one normally open and one normally closed contact (DP, double‑pole). The AC rating is 6 A at 240 V AC; the DC rating is 1.5 A at 110 V DC. Power loss is minimal at 0.5 W. The device mounts on the right‑hand side of the compatible breaker and occupies approximately 9 mm of additional width. It also mounts directly on a 35 mm DIN rail as a retrofit module (EN 60175).

Compatible Breakers
This accessory works with a wide range of ABB devices: S200 series MCBs (S201, S202, S203, S204), SN201 series MCBs, F200 series RCCBs, DS201 and DS202C RCBOs, and DS200 series. It is also suitable for S‑ARC1 and DS‑ARC1 arc fault detection devices. Always verify compatibility with the specific breaker model before ordering.

Installation Notes
The S2C‑S/H6R clips onto the side of the breaker without tools. A small selector switch on the device chooses H or S mode. Make the selection before mounting, as it is not accessible once the unit is attached to an adjacent breaker or busbar. The contact is not suitable for switching high‑current loads directly; it is intended for signalling into PLC inputs, relays, or indicator lamps.

Compliance and Origin
The device complies with CSA 22.2 No. 235, GB/T 14048.5, IEC/EN 60947-5-1, and UL 1077. Country of origin is Germany. RoHS compliant, SVHC‑free. EAN: 4099889164770.
