The Type T features a re-entrant piston/cylinder assembly that applies test fluid to both outside and inside of the cylinder. This design reduces clearance as pressure increases, decreasing fluid leakage and increasing float time for more relaxed testing. Overhung weight carriers lower the center of gravity of the weight stack, reducing side thrust and friction to extend piston/cylinder life and improve measurement accuracy .

A dual-volume pumping feature allows rapid filling at low pressures, then switches to smaller volume for fine control at higher ranges. The reservoir remains at atmospheric pressure, enabling refilling during a calibration run. Available with single column for field use or dual column for laboratory applications, with accuracies of ±0.100%, ±0.025%, and ±0.015% of reading. Construction uses 300 series stainless steel and Monel for compatibility with various hydraulic fluids or water/alcohol mixtures .
