Product Description
The Fluke Calibration 2 series consists of two benchtop temperature controllers — the 2100 and 2200 — designed to replace or retrofit an existing bath's control electronics and turn an average laboratory bath into a precision calibration tool. The 2100 delivers the highest stability (±0.001 °C) and ultra-sensitive response (0.00001 °C), while the 2200 offers a compact, economical alternative with ±0.015 °C stability and universal line-power flexibility for RTD-based baths operating from –100 °C to 800 °C.
2100: Highest Stability for Premium Calibration Baths
- Industry-Leading Stability: Better than ±0.001 °C in a mechanically sound bath, enabled by a solid-state PID control loop capable of detecting temperature changes as small as 0.00001 °C.
- Dual Sensor Support: Accepts thermistor (thermistor probes) for the best resolution at lower temperatures and industrial or standards-grade RTDs for wider-range calibration work. Set-point resolution is 0.002 °C with a thermistor and 0.01 °C with an RTD; high-resolution mode supports increments finer than 0.0002 °C.
- Constant Auxiliary Power: An auxiliary IEC outlet supplies uninterrupted line voltage to stirrers or other bath accessories, keeping fluid circulation stable while the controller cycles the main heater output.
2200: Compact RTD-Only Controller for Cost-Conscious Upgrades
- RTD Input, Wide Temperature Range: Operates any bath equipped with an RTD sensor from –100 °C to 800 °C with ±0.015 °C stability. Resolution is 0.01 °C on the digital display.
- Universal Line Power: Rated for 100–230 V AC, 50 or 60 Hz, with a maximum output of 10 A on a standard IEC receptacle — compatible with electrical systems worldwide without an external transformer.
- Smaller Footprint: Noticeably smaller and lighter than the 2100, making it ideal for field calibration baths, portable metrology systems, or workstations where bench space is at a premium.
Shared RS-232 Automation & Programming
- Standard Serial Interface: Both 2100 and 2200 include an RS-232 port, allowing external software to read process temperature, change set-points, and adjust control parameters — a necessity for automated calibration sequences and data logging.
- Front-Panel or Remote: All settings (control temperature, °C/°F units, proportional band, and calibration constants such as R₀ and ALPHA for RTD probes) are accessible from the four-button front panel or through the serial interface.
- Calibration Constants: The controller can be matched to a specific probe by entering its calibration coefficients, minimizing temperature offset and improving system accuracy over the full bath range.
Replace or Retrofit — Turn Good Baths into Calibration Tools
- Direct OEM Replacement: The 2100 and 2200 are designed to replace existing analogue or digital PID controllers in many stirred-liquid calibration baths, including those from Fluke's own bath product lines.
- Retrofit for Homemade/Third-Party Baths: If the bath's heater and sensor are electrically compatible, either controller can be wired in to dramatically improve stability, resolution, and automation capability.
- Typical Use Cases: Calibration laboratories, reference thermometer comparisons, industrial temperature sensor testing, and any metrology application requiring precise bath temperature control.
