The Musashi THERMO MASTER TCU-02/TB-E-K is a purpose-built digital temperature controller and resistance thermometer bulb-type heater block system for precision dispensing applications in electronics manufacturing. It combines the TCU-02 controller with interchangeable TB-E-K heater blocks spanning 5 ml to 50 ml syringe capacities. The system is designed specifically for mounting on the Z-axis of Musashi dispensing robots, where its ultra-lightweight construction minimizes added inertia and preserves high-speed positioning accuracy.

System Architecture: Separate Controller & Interchangeable Heater Blocks

  • Split Design: The TCU-02 controller (1.04 kg, W130×D126×H61 mm) is mounted separately from the heater block, allowing the heating element to travel with the dispensing head while the controller remains fixed. This minimizes the mass carried by the robot Z-axis.
  • Interchangeable Heater Blocks: Five heater block models (TB-5E-K through TB-50E-K) cover 5 ml, 10 ml, 20 ml, 30 ml, and 50 ml syringe capacities. Block weights range from 135 g (5 ml) to 340 g (50 ml)—approximately half the weight of conventional heater blocks, according to manufacturer literature.
  • Angular Design: The block housing uses a square (角型) form factor designed for direct mounting on automated dispensing equipment, replacing bulkier cylindrical predecessors.

0.1 °C Temperature Resolution & Stability

  • Simultaneous Display: The TCU-02 controller displays both the preset temperature and the measured temperature simultaneously on its digital display, with a resolution of 0.1 °C.
  • Improved Dispense Consistency: The manufacturer states that superior temperature stability reduces dispense fluctuations and backs up dispensing quality improvement. Consistent fluid temperature means consistent viscosity, which translates to consistent dot volume and reduced scrap in production.
  • Resistance Thermometer Bulb-Type Sensing: Uses a resistance thermometer bulb as the temperature sensing element, providing stable, repeatable temperature feedback for the heating control loop. The system is CE marked.
