The Nanmac H3 Series is a 1/8 DIN digital panel meter and temperature controller that consolidates four functions into a single shallow-depth enclosure: an input signal conditioner, a digital temperature display, a dual-relay alarm/control module with fail-safe logic, and an isolated 4-20 mA transmitter for retransmission of the measured value to a DCS, PLC, or chart recorder.

Four Instruments in One 1/8 DIN Enclosure

• Signal Conditioner: Accepts thermocouples (E, J, K, T), Pt100 RTDs, and process voltage/current signals (0-5 V, 1-5 V, 4-20 mA)—field programmable without hardware modification.
• Digital Display: 0.56" (14.2 mm) standard LED or 1.2" (30.5 mm) on the H3 X2 variant, readable from up to 30 feet. Display intensity is adjustable to compensate for varying ambient light, including direct sunlight.
• Alarm/Control Module: Two SPDT (Form C) relays rated 3 A each, configurable for high/low alarms, ON/OFF control, or pump alternation with adjustable on/off time delays.
• Isolated Transmitter: The 4-20 mA analog output provides galvanically isolated retransmission of the measured input signal, eliminating the need for an external signal isolator or separate transmitter.

Input Flexibility & Transmitter Power

• Universal Input: A single H3 can be deployed across different measurement points with different sensor types, reducing spares inventory for multi-loop installations. Input type is selected entirely through software—no jumpers or solder bridges to change.
• Built-In 24 VDC Transmitter Supply: Select AC-powered configurations supply 24 VDC to power a 4-20 mA transmitter directly from the H3. This eliminates the need for a separate DC power supply and simplifies field wiring—one cable carries both the transmitter power and the signal back to the panel meter.

Fail-Safe Relay Operation & Pump Control

• Configurable Fail-Safe Logic: Each relay can be independently set to latching or non-latching fail-safe mode. In latching mode, once a relay is triggered by an alarm condition, it remains in the alarm state until manually acknowledged by an operator—critical for safety applications where an alarm must not self-clear. In non-latching mode, the relay automatically resets when the process value returns within limits.
• Pump Alternation Control: For dual-pump applications (e.g., one main pump and one standby pump), the two relays can be configured to alternate pump duty at user-defined intervals, distributing wear and extending pump service life. Adjustable on/off time delays prevent rapid cycling during process fluctuations.

Programming — Three Ways, No Special Tools

• Front Panel Push Buttons: All parameters—input type, setpoints, alarm thresholds, relay logic, and display settings—are configurable via four front-panel buttons with on-screen prompts. No handheld programmer or laptop required for field commissioning.
• MeterView Software (USB): For bench configuration or complex multi-unit setups, free MeterView software connects via USB (using the PDA8006-NM USB serial adapter). Parameters can be saved, cloned, and downloaded to multiple H3 units.
• Copy Function: One H3 can copy its entire configuration to another H3 via a dedicated copy cable (PDA7420-NM). This is particularly efficient when commissioning multiple identical panels—configure one, then copy to the rest.

Two Display Sizes — Standard & Sunlight-Readable

• H3 Standard (0.56" display): Suitable for control panel mounting at normal viewing distances. Display intensity is adjustable to remain legible under direct sunlight—a practical advantage for outdoor installations such as wellhead monitoring panels and pipeline compressor stations.
• H3 X2 (1.2" display): The oversized LED display is readable from across a control room or from the floor of a large process bay. Ideal for applications where the operator needs to verify the process temperature at a glance without approaching the panel.
