Product Description
The 6ES7194-2LN10-0AB0 is a 10-meter shielded PROFINET bus daisy-chain cable with angled M8 plugs at both ends. Like all green-jacket ET 200AL bus cables, it uses the 2Y(ST)CY 1×4×0.5/1.0-100-GN dual-shielded construction with aluminum-clad foil and tinned copper braid. The defining feature is the angled connectors—they exit the M8 port at 90 degrees, keeping the cable profile low against the module face.
When should I choose angled connectors instead of straight?
The decision comes down to vertical clearance above the M8 port. A straight plug extends roughly 30mm above the port before the cable bends—so you need at least that much free space between the module face and the enclosure lid or the next layer of wire duct. An angled plug exits horizontally and needs only about 12mm. If your ET 200AL modules are installed in a shallow enclosure—common in machine-mounted IP65/67 cabinets where every millimeter of depth is budgeted—the angled connectors are the difference between closing the lid and redesigning the panel. The trade-off is small: angled plugs are slightly harder to grip during installation, but once seated and torqued they perform identically to straight plugs.
How does the 10-meter angled daisy-chain compare to the 15-meter version?
Same connector geometry, same cable construction—the only difference is length. The 10-meter variant (2LN10) is built for within-zone daisy-chaining where modules are spread across a single cabinet lineup or two adjacent enclosures. The 15-meter variant (2LN15) handles cross-zone backbone links where the PROFINET bus spans multiple cabinets across a machine. Choose 10 meters when the modules you are linking sit within the same physical zone—you will not have to coil and stow excess cable.
Why does the green jacket matter?
In the ET 200AL M8 ecosystem, jacket color is a safety-critical signal. Green identifies a shielded PROFINET bus cable; gray identifies an unshielded 24VDC power cable. The M8 connector is physically identical across both—4 pins, same pitch, same keying. Plugging a gray power cable into a bus port connects 24V to the PROFINET ASIC and destroys the interface. The green jacket is your visual lockout: if the cable in your hand is not green, do not plug it into a bus port. Every ET 200AL installation guide repeats this rule for a reason.
