The SINAMICS G115D 6SL3520-1XB02-2AF0 is a 2.2 kW (3.0 hp) wall-mounted distributed drive with AS-Interface communication and full AF0 daisy-chain connectivity. This FSB-frame (425 × 180 × 134 mm, fanless) drive delivers 5.9 A of continuous output current with 200% overload (11.8 A peak), combining the operator panel, M12 communication daisy-chain, and Q4/2 power daisy-chain in a single part number. At 2.2 kW — the most common power rating for motor-driven roller (MDR) replacement and zone-belt conveyors — the AF0 daisy-chain capability delivers its maximum wiring-reduction impact.

Daisy-Chain Economics at 2.2 kW. A typical 20-zone accumulation conveyor runs twenty 2.2 kW drives, one per zone. With daisy-chain wiring, these 20 drives share perhaps four PROFINET/AS-i drops (5 drives per line) and four to six 400 V power feeders (4–5 drives per feeder at 5.9 A each, totaling 23.6–29.5 A — well within the 25 A Q4/2 rating when accounting for load diversity). Without daisy-chaining, each drive requires its own Ethernet drop and power home-run, multiplying field wiring hours, connector counts, and potential fault points. The M12 and Q4/2 connectors are pre-wired on the drive, so installation becomes plug-and-play: mount the drive, connect the incoming and outgoing cables, and move to the next zone.

Fanless FSB for Continuous Duty. The 2.2 kW FSB frame uses the same natural-convection architecture as the 3 kW variant, but with significantly lower thermal stress — losses at 2.2 kW are proportionally lower, giving the passive heatsink ample thermal headroom. This translates to higher reliability margins in high-ambient installations (up to 55 °C with derating) and extended service life. For conveyor systems in unconditioned warehouses where summer temperatures regularly exceed 35 °C, the fanless design eliminates the risk of fan failures during peak thermal stress periods.
