The EC1200A is Ohkura Electric's multi-loop program controller for industrial heat treatment furnaces, environmental chambers, and thermal processing equipment where coordinated multi-zone temperature profiling is required. Each unit manages up to three independent PID control zones — heating, soaking, cooling — with ±0.05% measurement accuracy and a 100 ms three-channel scan cycle. The 320 × 234 full-dot TFT colour LCD presents set-point programme curves graphically, and the touchscreen interface lets operators build ramp/soak profiles directly on the panel without external software.

How does the EC1200A handle complex thermal programmes?

The controller stores 200 patterns with a combined capacity of 2000 steps — sufficient for hundreds of distinct product recipes in heat treatment shops running multiple part numbers. Programmes can be built using θ-Y (ramp rate + target) or X-Y (time + target) coordinate methods and linked across four programme slots for sequential execution with programmable bias between segments. An IC memory card slot provides backup storage for programmes, PID constants, and historical trend data.

How does multi-zone expansion work?

A single EC1200A controls up to three zones natively. For larger furnaces and multi-stage lines, up to six EC1200A units are networked via ARCNET at 2.5 Mbps in a token-passing N-to-N topology — expanding to 18 synchronised control zones. Sub-models in the EC1200 series address specific thermal control strategies: the EC1202A handles workpiece differential temperature (ΔT) control, the EC1203A manages wide-range broadband applications, and the EC1210A provides profiling with cascade control.
