Product Description
The LAUDA Integral IN XT Series represents a step-change in process thermostat technology, leveraging the principle of cold oil overlay to push the boundaries of dynamic temperature control. Designed for professional external temperature applications, this high-performance series operates seamlessly from -90 to 320 °C, with models offering precise temperature stability of 0.05 ± K. At its core lies the eight-stage, magnetically coupled LAUDA Vario pump, which provides a unique capability to adjust flow rates to match the specific thermal and hydraulic demands of both pressure-sensitive reactors and high-resistance applications.
Adaptive PID Control & Programming
- Intelligent PID with Self-Adaptation: The fully electronic continuous controller features a self-adaptive PID function that automatically determines the optimal control parameters. This ensures dynamic response without overshoot, regardless of the connected load or temperature range, and maintains a stability of ±0.05 K.
- Versatile Programming: A powerful programmer provides flexibility for complex thermal profiles, supporting 150 temperature/time segments that can be organized into 5 separate programs. This is ideal for automating multi-step synthesis, material stress tests, or any recipe-based thermal process.
Unmatched Hydraulics and Cold Oil Overlay System
- Eight-Stage Vario Pump: The rare earth magnetically coupled centrifugal pump offers eight distinct output level settings ranging from pressure control to flow rate optimization. This allows a single unit to drive a high-flow cooling loop equally as well as a delicate, pressure-restricted glass reactor. Pump pressure is displayed digitally in real-time on the TFT screen.
- Integrated Bypass for Flexibility: The integrated and adjustable bypass valve provides an additional level of process control by allowing independent regulation of internal circulation. This can be used to increase internal flow for rapid heating/cooling ramps, or to limit the external pressure to protect fragile glassware.
- Small Internal Volume and Expansion: The system features a very small internal active volume coupled with a large, non-thermostated expansion vessel. This minimizes the thermal mass, enabling extremely fast heating and cooling ramps, while the cold fluid layer system ensures safe and efficient operation across the entire temperature range without degradation of the heat transfer fluid.
- SmartCool Energy Management: The integrated SmartCool system digitally manages the compressor, switching it off at low setpoints to reduce energy consumption and noise, while ensuring full cooling power is instantly available on demand.
Comprehensive Safety, Diagnostics, and Future-Ready Connectivity
- Multi-Layered Safety Features: The unit incorporates low-level protection and an adjustable over-temperature cut-out with an acoustic alarm, suitable for both flammable and non-flammable liquids. A dedicated Tmax button on the front panel provides immediate access to the over-temperature setting. An integrated second external Pt100 port allows for redundant safety monitoring and enhanced control accuracy directly at the application’s point of interest.
- SelfCheck Assistant & Remote Fault Indication: A built-in SelfCheck Assistant provides system diagnostics and troubleshooting advice. Remote fault signaling is achieved through a floating contact, enabling integration with plant-wide monitoring systems.
- Digital Connectivity & Web Server: The unit comes standard with USB and Ethernet interfaces, and offers options for up to two additional interface modules (RS 232/485, Profibus, analogue, contact, or EtherCAT). A fully integrated web server allows for secure browser-based control from any PC, tablet, or smartphone on the local network, enabling true remote operation and monitoring.
Applications
- Chemical synthesis and polymerization in jacketed reactors from laboratory to pilot scale
- Pharmaceutical ingredient development and crystallization studies
- Automotive component and battery pack thermal testing
- Materials science research involving composite curing and thermomechanical analysis
- Biotechnology processes requiring precise temperature cycling
