The Gericke GUC-F is a multi-channel universal feeder controller purpose-designed for powder and bulk-solid metering applications in food, chemical, pharmaceutical, plastics, and construction materials processing. A single GUC-F unit controls up to four feeders simultaneously — in any mix of gravimetric (loss-in-weight) and volumetric modes — eliminating the need for dedicated one-controller-per-feeder architectures. When a user purchases a Gericke feeder with GUC-F, additional feeders can be added later without purchasing additional controllers.
How does TrendTec maintain accuracy during refill and disturbances?
The TrendTec self-optimizing control algorithm addresses the fundamental challenge of gravimetric feeding: when the hopper enters its refill phase, the weight signal becomes temporarily invalid as new material enters the hopper. Conventional controllers hold the last valid screw speed during refill, which can drift if material bulk density has changed. TrendTec analyzes the pre-refill weight trend, material flow characteristics, and post-refill settling behavior to generate an optimized speed profile through the refill window — maintaining dosing accuracy through the transition. Advanced digital filtering rejects random disturbances from plant vibration and environmental noise that would otherwise introduce control jitter in loss-in-weight measurement.

Industrial Ethernet protocols provide native integration with all major PLC and automation networks. IoT connectivity enables predictive maintenance — tracking motor runtime, refill frequency, and drive current trends to anticipate bearing wear and seal degradation before they cause unplanned downtime.
