The 6SL3520-1XH62-2AB0 is the brake-control variant of the 2.2 kW G115D FSB drive — the first 2.2 kW AB0 variant in the product range. It combines fanless FSB cooling with an integrated braking chopper for connecting an external braking resistor, making it the right drive for 2.2 kW conveyor sections where the motor must decelerate a load or hold position.

Brake control at 2.2 kW — why it matters

On a declining conveyor section or a stop-and-go transfer car, the motor regenerates energy during deceleration. Without a braking chopper, the drive can absorb only as much of that energy as its internal capacitors can store — sufficient for occasional stops, insufficient for cyclic braking duty. The AB0 variant includes the chopper circuit that switches an external resistor across the DC link when the voltage rises, converting regenerated energy to heat. At 2.2 kW FSB, the minimum external braking resistor is 80 Ω, and the integrated resistor is rated at 175 Ω / 10 W continuous. This handles the braking duty on inclined conveyor sections, lift-gate mechanisms, and indexing tables at the 2.2 kW power level.

Fanless with braking — no trade-off

The AB0 brake-control circuitry adds no meaningful heat load — the FSB frame still cools passively via natural convection at approximately 250 mA from the 24 V DC rail. The braking chopper's thermal load goes to the external resistor, not the drive's heatsink. For a 2.2 kW conveyor section that requires both braking and silent, maintenance-free operation, this variant delivers both without compromise.
