Both use the same electric white finish, the same screwless push-in terminals, the same 55×55 mm format, and the same hinged cover with a 150° opening angle. The 5UB1907 is the correct choice when the installation does not require increased touch protection under the applicable wiring regulations or site specification.

Does the hinged cover provide any touch protection on its own?

The hinged cover acts as a mechanical barrier when closed, preventing access to the socket apertures. However, it is not certified as increased touch protection (erhöhter Berührungsschutz) under DIN VDE 0620-1. Once the cover is lifted — even partially — the socket apertures are directly accessible. For installations where VDE-compliant increased touch protection is specified, the 5UB1905 or 5UB1906 must be used instead.

Yes.
