The 6SL3520-1XH61-1AB0 is the brake-control variant at the 1.1 kW step in the G115D FSA range. With 6.2 A output, fanless cooling, and the AB0 integrated braking chopper, it is specified for small conveyor mechanisms — diverter gates, lift gates, short inclined belts — where the motor starts and stops frequently and the deceleration cycle regenerates energy that must be dissipated.

Why brake control at 1.1 kW?

The AB0 braking chopper at 1.1 kW handles the same physics as at higher powers, scaled down: a small motor decelerating a small mechanical load still pushes energy back into the drive's DC link. On a diverter gate cycling every few seconds, the regenerated energy from each stop accumulates faster than the internal capacitors can dissipate it. The AB0 chopper switches an external braking resistor (minimum 200 Ω for FSA, or the integrated 350 Ω / 10 W resistor) across the DC link when the voltage rises, converting the regenerated energy to heat. For a 1.1 kW mechanism cycling hundreds of times per shift, this is the difference between reliable operation and intermittent overvoltage trips.

1XH61 AB0 — fanless, with braking

The 1XH61 sub-code identifies this hardware revision. The AB0 circuitry adds braking capability without adding heat to the drive's thermal budget — the resistor dissipates the energy externally. The FSA frame continues to cool passively via natural convection at ~250 mA from the 24 V DC rail.
