The KSB Cervomatic EDP.2 is a compact automatic control unit for starting and stopping a single pump based on pressure and flow demand. Designed for water supply, irrigation and rainwater harvesting applications, it integrates a pressure transducer, flow sensor, pre-pressurised 3.5-litre accumulator and check valve into a single IP55-rated enclosure. It supports single-phase and three-phase pump motors up to 16 A rated current with a maximum operating pressure of 10 bar.

Dual Operating Modes

The EDP.2 offers two control modes selectable via the LCD menu. In On/Off mode, the pump starts when system pressure drops below a user-set threshold (1–5 bar adjustable) and stops when the internal flow sensor detects no demand. In pressure-dependent mode, separate start and stop pressure setpoints provide finer control — start up to 6.5 bar and stop up to 7 bar. The built-in accumulator smooths pressure fluctuations and reduces pump cycling during low-flow conditions.

Protection Functions

Dry-running protection stops the pump if water is absent, preventing mechanical seal damage. The Automatic Reset Test (ART) function periodically attempts restarts at programmable intervals after a dry-run fault, allowing automatic recovery when the water source is replenished. Configurable over-current protection (0–10 A) provides motor thermal protection without an external overload relay. A volt-free alarm contact enables remote fault signalling to a building management system or indicator panel.
