How narrow a space can a 220mm-wide robot fit into?

Standard 6-axis robots have base widths of 300–500mm – they cannot fit in the narrow aisles between production equipment. SIA5D's 220mm width allows installation in gaps between machines, even between two machining centers, while leaving open access for fixture maintenance and operator access. Short arm lengths and extreme motion flexibility allow mounting outside the normal work envelope – floor, ceiling, wall, incline or machine body – without restricting any axis motion. This replaces SCARA robots and small 6-axis robots that require dedicated floor space.

What does ±0.05mm repeatability enable?

SIA5D's ±0.05mm repeatability is the highest in the SIA series – SIA10D/20D/50D are all ±0.1mm. This makes it suitable for precision electronics assembly, medical device assembly, optical component handling and other tasks requiring extreme positioning accuracy. 7 axes provide enough flexibility for the end-effector to approach the workpiece at the optimal angle, while the 220mm width allows access where other robots cannot reach. This replaces small SCARA robots with insufficient precision and 6-axis robots that require additional external axes.
