Product Description

The Vulcanic 5 Series is a no-display electrothermal safety temperature limiter designed for over-temperature protection in industrial heating systems. It operates as a safety device — not a controller — using a normally-closed contact that opens on temperature rise, providing fail-safe interruption of the heating circuit.

What are the two sensing technologies?

The series offers two variants. The bimetallic expansion type senses air temperature and provides automatic reset once the temperature drops below the 12 °C differential threshold, rated for 10 A at 250 VAC. The vapor pressure capillary bulb type uses a 1.9 mm diameter, 1-meter capillary sensor and is available with either automatic or manual reset, rated for 16 A at 250 VAC. Both share a maximum rated temperature of 90 °C and a fixed 12 °C switching differential.

Which version should be selected?

Choose the bimetallic version for simple air-temperature monitoring where automatic reset is acceptable and the sensing point is near the limiter body. Choose the capillary bulb version when the sensing point is remote from the limiter, when manual reset is required for operator intervention after a trip event, or when the higher 16 A breaking capacity is needed.
