Product Description

The IDS Ensenso C67 is the current-generation stereo 3D camera in the Ensenso C Series, succeeding the C57 with a higher-resolution 8 MP RGB sensor, upgraded M12 I/O connectors, and new 3° low-vergence variants. It combines two 5 MP global-shutter monochrome sensors on a rigid aluminum baseline — 240 mm for the S model, 455 mm for the M model — with a 200 W LED pattern projector that casts high-contrast FlexView3 textures across the scene. The result is a fully integrated, factory-calibrated 3D camera that outputs dense, metrically accurate point clouds with registered color at up to 10 frames per second, over a single Gigabit Ethernet cable with PoE++ power delivery.

How does the C67 produce color 3D point clouds?

Traditional stereo 3D cameras return geometry only — an (X, Y, Z) coordinate for each pixel. The C67 adds an 8 MP RGB sensor whose coordinate system is factory-calibrated to the stereo pair. Each 3D point is automatically assigned a true-color value, producing a color point cloud in a single acquisition. This is useful for applications where surface color carries decision information — sorting components by color and shape simultaneously, detecting印刷 defects on a curved surface, or distinguishing visually identical parts by geometry alone. The 8 MP sensor on the C67 delivers substantially sharper color texture than the 2 MP sensor on the previous C57.

What accuracy and working range does each baseline provide?

Model Baseline Z-Accuracy Working Distance (varies by lens)
C67-S 240 mm ~0.1 mm at 1 m 750–1500 mm (6 mm lens)
C67-M 455 mm ~0.2 mm at 2 m 1100–5000 mm (6 mm lens)

Lens options include 6 mm, 8 mm, and 12 mm focal lengths, each pre-focused at the factory for the chosen working distance. Temperature stability is specified at less than 0.075 mm deviation at 30 cm distance over a 10 °C thermal swing, so the calibration holds across typical factory-floor temperature variation without requiring re-calibration between shifts.

What industrial environments does the C67 withstand?

The fully enclosed aluminum housing carries an IP65/67 rating — dust-tight and protected against temporary immersion — making the C67 suitable for washdown-adjacent stations, dusty pick-and-place cells, and outdoor loading bays. The M12 trigger and GPIO connectors replace the M8 connectors of the C57, improving resistance to vibration and cable strain. Power is supplied via PoE++ (802.3bt) at 90 W, so a single Ethernet cable carries data, power, and control signals. The camera mounts via standard threads on multiple faces, and the compact dimensions — 290 × 58 × 100 mm for the S model, 506 × 58 × 100 mm for the M model — let it fit into tight robot cells and gantry-mounted inspection stations.
