Product Description

The Badger Meter M1000 electromagnetic flow meter has been specifically designed for industrial water/wastewater, machinery plants, vehicles, and batching process applications. Its operating principle is based on Faraday's law of magnetic induction: voltage induced across a conductor moving through a magnetic field is proportional to its velocity. The induced signal voltage is measured by two diametrically opposed internally mounted electrodes.

The M1000 features empty pipe detection via a third electrode positioned between 12 and 1 o'clock. If this electrode is uncovered for at least five seconds, the meter displays an empty pipe condition. When covered again, the error clears and measurement resumes.

The meter has an LCD display with programming via three buttons. Minimum conductivity is 5 µS/cm (20 µS/cm for demineralized water). Nominal pressure is up to 232 psi (16 bar). Fluid temperature limits depend on liner and mounting: hard rubber max 178°F, PTFE max 212°F (meter) or 302°F (remote). Outputs include analog (0/4-20 mA, 0-10 mA) and pulse (two open collectors, optional active). Communications include RS232, RS422, RS485 Modbus RTU. Min-Max flow alarm is standard.
