The LDetek LD8001TCD is a binary gas analyzer that offers direct and continuous measurements of a gas component in a binary gas mixture. It uses a Thermal Conductivity Detector (TCD) enabling measurements from ppm to percent levels. The analyzer is housed in a compact, rack-mountable 3U unit suitable for both industrial and laboratory use.

The measurement principle relies on the difference in thermal conductivity between the gas of interest and the background gas(es); the larger the difference, the lower the limit of detection. While designed for binary mixtures, measurements of one component in more complex gas mixtures are also achievable when the background gases have consistent ratios or similar thermal conductivity values.

Key features include an integrated bootloader for software updates via Ethernet, a large-scale measurement capability, and a 4-20mA output as standard. It also includes a Range Identification Relay and LAN/Web control for remote operation. The micro-valve design ensures very low dead volume and fast purging time. The LD8001TCD is maintenance-free and finds applications in gas manufacturing (monitoring PSA systems), hydrogen production, air liquefaction plants, petroleum refineries, and power generation plants for monitoring H2 cooling gas purity.
