The Hitachi Micro-EHV+ series is an all-in-one compact programmable logic controller (PLC) designed for small to mid-size automation applications. Fully compliant with IEC 61131-3 and powered by the EHV-CODESYS V3.5 development environment, it offers a powerful yet easy-to-use platform for machine control, motion control, and data acquisition. Whether you are new to PLC programming or an experienced user, the Micro-EHV+ provides a seamless programming experience with support for all five IEC languages (LD, FBD, SFC, IL, ST) plus CFC.

All-in-One Compact Design

The Micro-EHV+ integrates a powerful CPU with 1 MB user program memory, 640 KB non-retain data memory, and 256 KB retain data memory (including 64 KB persistent variables). All models come standard with USB (gateway and host), Ethernet (10/100BASE-TX), and RS-232C ports. An optional RS-422/485 port is also available, providing flexible connectivity for programming, SCADA integration, and device communication. The USB host port allows direct connection of a standard USB memory stick for program download, data logging, and web visualization.

Motion Control & High-Speed I/O

The Micro-EHV+ is equipped with advanced motion control features: 5 channels of single-phase 100 kHz high-speed counters (32-bit) and 2 channels of 2-phase 60 kHz counters, along with 5 interrupt inputs for fast response to external events. For positioning and speed control, it provides 3 channels of 65 kHz pulse/PWM outputs, configurable for stepper motor control (position or speed control). These features make the Micro-EHV+ ideal for applications requiring precise motion control, such as packaging machines, labeling equipment, and small pick-and-place systems.

Modular Expandability

Despite its compact size, the Micro-EHV+ supports up to 4 expansion units, allowing the system to scale from a basic 40/64 I/O base unit up to a maximum of 320 I/O points (using 64-point expansion units). A wide range of expansion modules is available, including digital I/O (8/14/16/28 points), analog I/O (4 channels), RTD (resistance temperature detector) input, and thermocouple input modules. All modules feature removable terminal blocks for easy wiring and maintenance.

Comprehensive Communication Protocols

The Micro-EHV+ supports a wide range of industrial communication protocols: EtherCAT master (firmware version 3.5.3.42 or newer), Modbus-TCP master/slave, Modbus-RTU master/slave (via RS-232C or optional RS-422/485), and OPC-DA. This ensures seamless integration with Hitachi inverters, HMIs, SCADA systems, and third-party devices. The built-in Ethernet port also serves as a gateway for remote monitoring and diagnostics via the integrated web server.

Flexible Power Supply Options

The Micro-EHV+ series is available in both DC-powered (24 VDC) and AC-powered (100-240 VAC) versions, with basic units offering 40 or 64 I/O points. Digital input/output types include DC input, transistor output (sink/source), and relay output. Select models include short-circuit protection on transistor outputs, enhancing system reliability.
