Product Description
The Flexem F5 Series represents a new generation of intelligent motion control PLCs, built on the proprietary FS-unified platform. It combines strict adherence to international standards—IEC 61131-3 architecture and the PLCopen instruction set—with advanced motion control capabilities and native IoT connectivity. The series is divided into the FC5 basic logic control models and the FC5M motion control models, offering a scalable solution for applications ranging from simple machine control to complex coordinated motion.
For demanding motion applications, the FC5M sub-series delivers powerful performance. It supports advanced functions such as electronic cam, electronic gear, and multi-axis interpolation. The hardware foundation includes 7 points of 100kHz high-speed pulse inputs (supporting up to 5 counter axes) and 6 points of 100kHz high-speed pulse outputs (transistor type). These capabilities make the F5 Series ideal for packaging machinery, assembly lines, robotics, and other applications requiring precise coordination and high-speed positioning.
The “intelligent” in F5 is realized through its seamless IoT integration. An optional dedicated 4G IoT module attaches directly to the left side of the CPU, enabling secure cloud connectivity to the Flexem Cloud platform. This allows for remote operation and maintenance, including online program updates, real-time data monitoring, and historical data querying. Engineers can diagnose and resolve field issues without on-site visits, significantly reducing service costs and improving system uptime.
Development and deployment are streamlined with the FStudio Unified (FSU) engineering software. FSU provides a graphical configuration interface with intuitive hardware mapping, eliminating the complexity of traditional address-based programming. It supports both Ladder Diagram (LD) for logic control and Structured Text (ST) for complex calculations. A notable convenience feature is the ability to download programs via the USB Type-C port without connecting external power—the PLC draws power directly from the computer, simplifying batch configuration and on-site updates.
Hardware flexibility is another key advantage. The F5 Series offers CPU modules with 20, 30, and 40 I/O points in various power supply and output types. The system can be expanded with up to 31 I/O modules and 1-2 expansion boards that fit discreetly within the unit, saving valuable cabinet space. Communication is comprehensive, with a built-in 10/100M Ethernet port supporting up to 12 simultaneous connections and two serial channels (RS485/232) with Modbus RTU/ASCII protocols at baud rates up to 115200bps. Modbus TCP/RTU configuration requires no coding—only simple parameter settings.
