Product Description
The ifm efector SM Series Magnetic-Inductive Flow Meter is designed to accurately detect the flow rate of conductive media up to 160gpm for industrial applications and 2,642gpm for sanitary applications. The mechanically-robust stainless steel design mounts directly in-line for a compact, low-profile installation for process control applications .
Via IO-Link, the SM magmeter transmits flow rate, flow volume (totalizer function), and medium temperature. Additional features include plug-and-play replacement, real-time recipe changes, and diagnostic feedback. The meter reliably measures liquids with conductivity values >20µS/cm such as industrial water, drinking water, water-based coolants, and water/glycol mixtures .
Typical applications include protecting welding equipment from loss of cooling water, batching applications, flow and temperature monitoring through heat exchangers, totalizing flow of process water, and pump run-dry prevention. Available with 1 or 2 analog outputs and clearly visible numerical display, the SM Series offers various measuring ranges and tubular or rectangular housing options .
