The Fluke 393 FC is the world's first CAT III 1500 V True RMS solar clamp meter, specifically engineered for technicians working in high-voltage DC environments such as solar photovoltaic (PV) arrays, wind power systems, electric railways, and data center battery banks for uninterruptible power supplies.

The meter measures up to 1500 V DC and 1000 V AC through the included test leads, and up to 999.9 A DC or AC through its 34 mm jaw. The included iFlex flexible current probe extends AC current measurement capability to 2500 A, providing access to large conductors in tight spaces. The thin jaw design allows easy access to cables in crowded combiner boxes where space is limited.

Safety is paramount with CAT III 1500 V / CAT IV 600 V certification per IEC 61010-2-032, making it the only clamp meter with this high-voltage DC safety rating. The test leads are also rated to CAT III 1500 V DC. The IP54 rating ensures reliable operation in dusty and damp outdoor environments common in solar installations.

Specialized solar features include DC power measurement displayed in kVA, an audio polarity indicator that alerts to reversed leads, and visual continuity that provides a bright green light in the display for easy identification in dark or noisy environments. The dual display shows voltage and current simultaneously for efficient power calculations.

As part of the Fluke Connect wireless family, the 393 FC enables remote logging, trending, and monitoring to pinpoint intermittent faults, with data transmission and report generation directly from the field via smartphone.
