The AEMC SR661 AC current probe is designed for industrial and utility environments, compatible with DMMs, recorders, loggers, oscilloscopes, power meters, and harmonic analyzers. It is built to the highest safety and performance standards, carrying CE Mark and UL approval for both Canada and the United States.

The probe features three switch-selectable ranges (20Apk, 200Apk, 2000Apk) with corresponding voltage outputs of 100mV/A, 10mV/A, and 1mV/A (2V peak max). This mV output enables instruments without dedicated current inputs to measure and display current through any AC voltage range, making it particularly useful for oscilloscope-based current waveform analysis and power quality measurements.

High-quality magnetic cores and uniform windings provide sensitivity for very low-level current measurements down to 100mA, while still handling measurements up to 2000A peak (1200A RMS). Excellent transformation characteristics and low phase shift (≤1° at 1000-1200A, 1mV/A range) permit accurate power and power quality measurements across a broad frequency response of 1Hz to 100kHz (with current derating above 1kHz). A passive filter eliminates noise and ring on rapid rising (di/dt) waveforms, ensuring accurate screen displays on oscilloscopes.

The ergonomically designed 2.25" (57mm) jaw opening accommodates large conductors including cables up to 2.05" (52mm) diameter, bus bars up to 1.95" x 0.19" (50mm x 5mm), and up to two 500MCM conductors. The probe features double insulation, a tactile barrier for safety, and an integral 6.5ft (2m) output cable terminated with an insulated BNC connector.

The SR661 conforms to EN 61010, 600V CAT III safety standards and is UL approved for Canada and United States. It includes a user manual and product warranty card. Applications include power quality measuring, low industrial loads, power load monitoring, waveform analysis, and measuring around cable bundles.
