Product Description
The NivuLink Compact is a DIN-rail-mountable telecontrol PLC built on the proven WAGO I/O SYSTEM 750 platform. It integrates a Cortex A8 processor running real-time Linux, an LTE Cat 4 cellular modem, dual Ethernet ports, and a serial interface into a single controller node. Designed for remote monitoring and control in the water and wastewater industry, it handles data acquisition from analogue and digital field sensors, executes local control logic, logs readings to an SD card, and transmits data to a central SCADA system over the mobile network—all without a separate gateway or router.
Which NivuLink Compact model fits my application?
| Model | Analogue In | Digital In | Analogue Out | Digital Out | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Small | 4 | 16 | — | — | Basic level/flow logging |
| Log | 8 | 16 | — | — | Multi-sensor data acquisition |
| Plus | 8 | 16 | 2 | 8 | Full remote I/O with control outputs |
| S7 | S7-PLC with defined DB100 address range | Siemens STEP7 integration | |||
| NF | 6 NivuFlow transmitter inputs | Flow monitoring networks | |||
All variants share the same Cortex A8 controller, dual Ethernet, LTE modem, and SD card slot. The analogue inputs accept 0–20 mA current signals from level sensors, pressure transmitters, and flow meters; digital inputs handle 24 V DC signals from float switches, rain gauges, and status contacts. The Plus model adds two 0–20 mA analogue outputs and eight 24 V DC digital outputs for controlling pumps, valves, or alarm indicators directly from the telecontrol station.
How does the NivuLink connect to SCADA?
The NivuLink uses its built-in LTE modem to establish a secure VPN tunnel back to the central control room, supporting OpenVPN, IPsec, and TLS encryption behind an integrated firewall. Data is exchanged via MODBUS TCP/UDP with a process image of up to 32,000 words, and the dual Ethernet ports can operate in switched or separated mode for network segmentation. For sites without cellular coverage, the serial interface (switchable RS-232/RS-485) connects to external radios or leased-line modems. An integrated web server provides local configuration access, and remote diagnostics are available through the e!Cockpit programming environment.
