The Horner Automation HE-RCC6512 is a Remote Compact Controller (RCC) designed for applications where a screen-less controller is the best fit. Part of the RCC series, this compact PLC combines control, I/O, and networking into a single DIN rail-mountable package, providing a cost-effective solution for distributed control and OEM applications.

Built-in I/O and Expansion

The HE-RCC6512 offers 28 built-in I/O points, including 12 digital DC inputs, 10 digital outputs, 2 analog inputs, and 4 analog outputs. For larger applications, the controller supports expansion up to 512 digital I/O and 256 analog I/O via CsCAN networking.

Communication and Networking

The controller features a 10/100 Base-T Ethernet port with Auto-MDIX support, enabling integration into industrial networks. The built-in CAN port supports CsCAN protocol, allowing the RCC to connect hundreds of remote I/O points. Additionally, dual serial ports (1xRS-232, 1xRS-485) provide legacy device connectivity. Supported protocols include Ethernet, CsCAN, and Modbus.

The HE-RCC6512 is programmed using Horner's Cscape software, which supports ladder logic and complies with IEC 61131-3 standards. Users can leverage application-defined communications, PID auto-tuning, floating-point math, and motion commands.

Data Logging and Remote Monitoring

A built-in removable microSD memory card enables data logging, application updates, and recipe handling based on events or scheduled intervals. With webOCS technology, users can monitor and control plant data from any computer, tablet, or mobile device via published web pages.
